Platyclis minimus, Tyrwaun, Pwll © Richard PryceLlanelli Naturalists Newsletter - November 2005 - No 72

The net-winged beetle Platyclis minimus, related to the more familar soldier beetles and a speciality of ancient semi-natural woodlands in the chalk and limestone districts of lowland England and southeast Wales was recorded at Tyrwaun, Pwll, in late August.  It is previously known in Carmarthenshire from Dinefwr Park. It may be breeding in log wood piles of cherry at the bottom of my garden or in poplar or elm, etc, beyond.
